1. Data we use

We process account information (name, email, language and authentication methods), characters, stories, messages, choices and game actions, preferences and feedback you send us.

We also retain access rights, turn balances and ledger entries, purchase references, and payment and refund status. Technical logs may contain IP addresses, browser information, timestamps and errors needed for security and diagnostics.

2. Purposes

We use this data to create and secure your account, continue your adventures, generate game responses, deliver purchased rights, send service emails, respond to requests and resolve incidents. Information needed for legal obligations or fraud prevention is processed for those purposes.

3. Artificial intelligence

To generate a response, Amerane sends the necessary context to its AI provider: your message and relevant parts of the story, character and previous actions. The production service uses OpenAI. Avoid sensitive data and information about real people in your messages.

Submitted content is processed under the provider’s terms and may be processed outside your province or country. AI functionality does not require sending your payment card details.

4. Payments and providers

Depending on the checkout offered, Stripe processes payments for Mathieu Bujold, Link acts as merchant of record through Stripe Managed Payments, or Paddle processes them as an authorized reseller and merchant of record. These providers process payment data under their respective privacy policies. Amerane receives the information needed to associate a purchase with an account and manage access rights; our application does not store your full card number or security code.

Hosting, email delivery and technical service providers process the information needed for their functions. Authorized people may access data needed for support and security. Disclosure may also be necessary to comply with the law or protect people’s rights.

5. Cookies and preferences

The site uses cookies and local storage for sessions, security and preferences, including language and appearance. The payment provider may use its own technical mechanisms. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent some functions, including sign-in.

6. Retention and security

Account and game data are retained to provide and resume your adventures. Following account closure or a deletion request, some information may be retained for legal obligations, disputes, security or within backups during their replacement cycle. Retention depends on the purpose and applicable requirements.

We restrict access and use technical measures to protect data. No system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your requests

You can change some information or delete your account in settings where that function is available. You may also contact the operator listed on this page to request access, correction or deletion, or exercise other rights under applicable law. We may verify your identity before handling a request.

Account deletion is not a refund request. Requests relating to data held directly by Stripe or Paddle may be addressed to the relevant provider under its privacy policy. We will communicate material changes to this policy and update its revision date.
